The largest low cost carrier serving Wales, bmibaby, recently announced more flights to Barcelona for its winter programme.
The airline has also increased the number of services on domestic flights to Belfast and Glasgow International. These new winter season flights will be available for travel from October 26, 2008 until March 28, 2009. The airline will also offer increased services to Glasgow, Belfast and Edinburgh.
Patrick Duffy, managing director, Cardiff International Airport, said: "Further to the release of bmibaby's first stage of winter flights we are pleased to see a further commitment to Cardiff with the release of stage two. This resolute commitment comes during a difficult economic climate and increased services to both Glasgow and Belfast show the strength of domestic travel in the south Wales market."
Altogether bmibaby will fly from Cardiff International to 13 European destinations this winter: Alicante, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Belfast, Edinburgh, Faro, Geneva, Glasgow, Jersey, Malaga, Murcia, Palma and Warsaw.
Crawford Rix, managing director, bmibaby, said: "I am pleased to announce phase two of bmibaby's winter programme from Cardiff International Airport. We have 13 great European destinations to choose from including new winter flights to Barcelona.
"We are also ramping up the number of weekly flights on some of our key domestic routes with a double daily service to Belfast International, eight flights a week to Glasgow and 13 flights per week to Edinburgh Airport, a great benefit for business passengers."
