A hotel you'll love at first sight
Courtyard by Marriott is the first Gatwick airport hotel you see when pulling off the motorway. Its spectacular design around the titular courtyard means that the main features and amenities are within view most of the time; and there's a lot to see, whether you're watching your weight in the gym, spying on what's happening back at the office in the business centre or just surveilling your kids as they watch the planes and wonder at how they're seen and not heard - the planes that is, we cant guarantee the same with your kids.
The first hotel you see as you drive into Gatwick airport
The Courtyard by Marriott is hard to beat for sheer convenience. It's the first hotel you see as you come off the motorway and with valet parking, you just hand over your keys and check in. In the morning, its just a few minutes on the transfer bus to the South terminal. If you're coming to Gatwick by car, this is the easiest, quickest place to park and spend the night.

An eye of the storm in the middle of a busy airport
Youre so close to the runway that, from your soundproofed Marriott hotel room, you can see the planes take off and land, but just outside the front door, you can hear the birds singing in the trees. If you want peace and quiet, a stones throw from the boarding gates, the Courtyard is the hotel for you. Built around an open-plan lobby with a skylit atrium, the hotel has a clean, modern feel and a good range of facilities for both leisure and business travellers. Overlooking the airport runway, the planes can be seen and not heard. Thanks to the hotels highly-effective sound insulation, noise is kept to an absolute minimum in both bedrooms and communal areas.
Getting to the hotel
The Courtyard is easy to access by either car or public transport. From the railway station, just hop on a shuttle bus directly to the hotel. From the M23, follow signs for the South terminal and take the first left (Buckingham Gate). You have the option to park in the secure long term car park next to the hotel, or use our Meet and Greet service, with which your car will be collected from outside the hotel and brought back to you when you return. With a pleasant restaurant - open for breakfast and dinner - relaxing bar and lounge areas, spacious modern rooms, business centre for sending faxes and emails and a well-equipped gym, the Courtyard has much more than proximity to recommend it.
Getting to the airport
Getting from the Courtyard to the airport couldnt be easier. Theres a bus service every 20 minutes between 04:00 and 23:30 to both terminals from right outside the main entrance.
We recommend the Courtyard by Marriott for:
Convenience easy to find by car and a short bus ride from the South terminal, the Courtyard makes an incredibly-convenient start to your journey.
Parking not only is it easy to drive up to the Courtyard, parking is simplicity itself with our Meet and Greet service. Guests can park outside the hotel during check-in, then hand over your keys to the parking team, so an insured driver can take it to a nearby secured car park for you.
Hearty eaters the Marriott's Casterbridge restaurant has a generous breakfast buffet. Choose from healthy options or a traditional English breakfast, with extra items available to order a la carte. For dinner, choose from grills, light bites, substantial, modern British main courses or the international-style hot buffet. A bar menu is available from 10am, and if youre still hungry, room service is offered from noon to 10pm, with a selection of sandwiches and grills. Kids eat free (one child under 6 per paying adult, max two per group).
Comfort and style rooms are spacious and well designed, with incredibly-comfortable beds, flatscreen TVs and wifi access. Even rooms overlooking the runway wont be disturbed by planes as soundproofing keeps the noise out.
Earliest check-in time is 3pm, and latest check-out time is midday.
Buckingham Gate, Gatwick airport, RH6 0NT
Our customers love this comfortable and contemporary hotel. It's bright, spacious and only 3 minutes from the airport.
You can check in from 15:00. It'd be hard to miss the Courtyard by Marriott - it's the first hotel you can see when you leave the motorway and it's next to the South terminal.
Do as much or as little as you like at this contemporary hotel that has a friendly and laid-back vibe. You might want to grab a drink and soak up the pre-holiday cheer of the hotel's bar - or if the weather allows, order a glass of something chilled and head outside to the leafy courtyard. The health-conscious can work up a sweat and shed some excess pounds in the hotel's fitness room. It's open from 07:00 to 22:00 and has cardio equipment and free weights.
It's hard not to be tempted by the mouthwatering dishes on offer at the Casterbridge Grill.
[b]It's a double-win for parents: not only will you love the food, you'll also love the fact that one child under the age of 6 can order a free meal from the special kid's menu when they are with a paying adult. The restaurant is open daily from 18:00 to 22:30, or you can have food delivered to your room between 12:00 and 22:00.
You'll be primed for slumber after a satisfying feast. The hotel's spacious, soundproofed rooms and sumptuous beds are engineered for good night's sleep. For the ultimate treat, you could upgrade to a Junior Suite for a larger room, a bigger bed, a sofa, a coffee machine and other luxurious treats.
Start your holiday celebrations early by adding a bottle of wine or champers to your overnight stay. You'll get a lie in too - that's joy of being so close to the airport.
A big day should start with a big breakfast. Fill up on all of the favourites with the hotel's all-you-can-eat buffet. There's a choice of cooked items and continental, as well as juices, coffee and tea. You'll save £1 on the standard price when you book our breakfast add-on.
When it's time to jet off, hop on the transfer to the terminal. It runs every 20 minutes, costs £3 per person and takes 10 minutes. You could walk, if you want to, but we'd recommend taking the bus. It's safer.
