Airports are giving advice for people travelling over the Christmas holidays.

Passengers are urged to allow plenty of time to travel to the airport as there are some restrictions to regular timetables.

Passengers who plan to pack Christmas crackers should to consult their airline before arriving at the airport and travellers are reminded not to pack wrapped presents in hand luggage. Check with your airlines to find out what restrictions apply to both hand and checked-in luggage. The rules regarding liquids stays the same - Any liquids in hand luggage must be in individual containers no greater than 100ml capacity and placed in a transparent re-sealable bag, no larger than 20cm x 20cm (8”x 8”) in size.
