Eating and Drinking

The capital has so much to offer that it’s often best to choose somewhere near the attractions you want to see. There’s so much choice you’ll be sure to find something fantastic.

If you head to Soho or the West End there is a wealth of restaurants on offer. While most areas have a good range of restaurants there are a few that stand out: Brick Lane is the place for all things Bengali, Stoke Newington is a Turkish haven and in Southall you’ll find a formidable curry.

For something a little more exclusive The Ivy in the heart of the West End is a celebrity favourite and the three Michellin starred Restaurant Gordon Ramsay offers the most exquisite dining around.

Top tip

Getting to London from Heathrow airport is easy, simply jump on the Heathrow Express or take the Piccadilly line on the Underground, both go from Heathrow’s terminals.

Shopping

In the hunt for retail look no further than Oxford Street, home to the flagship stores of all your favourite brands. If it’s another rainy day in London then get your fashion fix at Westfield, this mammoth shopping centre has all the big names under one roof. Alternatively for the most famous shop in the world head to Knightsbridge and experience the magnificent Harrods in all its glory.

You'll get a different experience entirely if you head to the iconic Portobello Road where the painfully trendy market is home to vintage fashion, antiques and jewellery a plenty.
