Old-fashioned elegance meets modern luxury at the Renaissance Hotel, which will charm you as soon as you step through the door. The vast, newly-refurbished reception area, with its chandeliers, grand piano, huge white pillars and leather sofas, whisks you back to the 1970s, when the hotel was built. But don't be fooled - there's nothing retro about the first-class facilities, which include a health club, a sophisticated restaurant and air-conditioned, soundproofed rooms. And the amazing views of the runway, right behind the hotel, ensure you'll never forget you're in the 21st century.

The Renaissance features the Duo Restaurant & Bar, a hairdresser's, a flight information screen in the lobby, a laundry, a dry-cleaning service, 28 meeting rooms, a cash machine, a bureau de change, a safe deposit box at reception and a concierge. There is also a gift shop, which is open until 10pm.
Wireless internet access is available in the bedrooms, the public areas and the meeting rooms for a charge. There is also a 24-hour business centre, with facilities including a photocopier, a fax machine and scanners.

Rooms

Rooms at the Renaissance Hotel have triple glazing, which makes them soundproof, air conditioning, a minibar, a queen-size bed, an en-suite bathroom with luxury toiletries, a hairdryer, a 25-inch TV with cable and satellite channels and pay movies, a clock radio, an iron and an ironing board, a trouser press, a chair, a desk, two phones with voicemail and tea and coffee-making facilities. You can choose to have a fridge instead of a minibar. You can also have a newspaper delivered to your room.

Room service is available 24 hours a day.

Dining

Watch the action on the runway through the giant windows in the light and airy Duo restaurant, which is open for breakfast and dinner.
Breakfast is served from 6am to 10am, with dinner from 6pm to 10pm - and the chef might even cook your food in front of you in the open kitchen.
For dinner, you can choose from the international buffet or order a la carte. The fresh, seasonal menu changes, but a typical meal could be hand-made potato gnocchi with wild mushrooms and sage, followed by shepherd's pie with carrots, with English custard tart with strawberries and cream to finish.
Bar food is served in the sophisticated Duo bar, with its subdued, coloured lighting, leather booths and wall-mounted widescreen TV. Food is available from 10am until midnight or later.

Check-in

The earliest check-in time is 3pm and the latest check-out time is noon, unless otherwise arranged.

The hotel has 10 rooms which have been adapted for disabled guests. These rooms have a roll-in shower with a seat, grab rails and an emergency cord. They are all on the ground floor, but the hotel lifts can accommodate wheelchairs. There is a visible fire alarm for guests with hearing difficulties.
Guest directories and room service menus can be supplied in Braille, and all rooms have the number on the door in Braille.
Guide dogs and other service animals are welcome.

  • My self and a group of friends stayed at the Renaissance Hotel Heathrow Sat 25th - Sun 26th on an Omega break, and I have just got to say what a wonderful hotel it was. Apart from being an immaculate, food delicious (wonderful breakfasts) the hotel staff were absolutely wonderful and nothing was ever too much trouble. A truly wonderful experience, which I am looking forward to doing again very soon. Thank you.
