Renaissance Hotel Heathrow
A hotel for the jet set in more ways than one
Youd be sleeping in one of the planes if the Renaissance hotel were any nearer to the airport. The joint closest hotel to terminals 1 and 3 is right beside the runway and a plane-spotters paradise - get one of the rooms on the south side of the hotel and you can watch the airline action to your hearts content. You wont hear a thing though - the Renaissance is amazingly quiet inside, thanks to the two layers of double glazing on every window.
There are plenty of things to occupy your time at the Renaissance: theres a large gym, which is fully equipped with fixed and free weights, bikes and treadmills, a sauna and steam room, plus a mirrored exercise studio which runs a daily programme of classes including yoga, salsa and zumba. Theres a beauty salon, where you can keep yourself looking your best with a massage, manicure, or facial - treatments need to be booked in advance, but we enjoyed a very relaxing massage when we stayed and can recommend the experience! The Renaissance even has its own hairdresser, who will not only cut, colour and style your hair so you can look fabulous for your holiday, but also share a wealth of celebrity gossip about famous guests who have visited the hotel!
Famously comfortable beds

Keeping with the theme, the Mediterranee restaurant, overlooking the hotels beautiful courtyard garden, offers a breakfast buffet to get your day off to a hale and hearty start, and a self-service carvery in the evenings. The cosy Rafters bar offers light meals from noon till late, as well as a selection of wines, beers and soft drinks.
The hotel also has a restaurant, a bar which also serves food, a gift shop selling souvenirs and travel toiletries, and a bureau de change. Rooms are cosy and traditional, with soft, luxurious bedding. The Renaissance has a large car park with 24-hour security patrols and CCTV, so you can leave your car here while youre on holiday, and catch the Heathrow Hoppa or a free local bus from the hotel to the airport. You can also park in the airports Long Stay car park or book our Meet and Greet package, where you drive to the terminal and hand your car over to a driver who will park it for you.
We recommend the Renaissance for:
Location - The Renaissance cant be beaten for location if youre flying from terminal 1 or 3. Its right next to the runway - youre five minutes from check-in in a taxi.
Delicious dining - The Duo Restaurant has a hot and cold breakfast buffet, as well as an a la carte breakfast menu should your favourite dish not be included. Theres a new lunch menu in the restaurant, while evening diners can choose from international dishes on the a la carte menu or a three-course buffet dinner. Lighter meals and snacks are served in the Duo Bar from noon to midnight. Or if you just want a coffee and a muffin mid-morning, theres a Starbucks in the lobby.
Parking - Either park in the hotel car park and catch the bus to the airport in the morning, take your car to the Long Stay car park at the airport or book our Meet and Greet package, where your car is collected from you outside the terminal and parked for you.
A great nights sleep - Beds at the Renaissance are so famously comfortable you can even buy the pillows for your own home. Despite the closeness of the runway, you wont be disturbed by aeroplanes we enjoyed a blissfully quiet nights rest.
