A hotel for the jet set – in more ways than one

You’d be sleeping in one of the planes if the Renaissance hotel were any nearer to Heathrow airport. The joint closest hotel to terminals 1 and 3 is right beside the runway and a plane-spotter’s paradise - get one of the rooms on the south side of the hotel and you can watch the airline action to your heart’s content. You won’t hear a thing though - the Renaissance is amazingly quiet inside, thanks to the two layers of double glazing on every window.

This is one of the best Heathrow airport hotels to help you unwind before your holiday. There’s a large gym, which is fully equipped with fixed and free weights, bikes and treadmills, a sauna and steam room, plus a mirrored exercise studio which runs a daily programme of classes including yoga, salsa and zumba. There’s a beauty salon, where you can keep yourself looking your best with a massage, manicure, or facial - treatments need to be booked in advance, but we enjoyed a very relaxing massage when we stayed and can recommend the experience! The Renaissance even has its own hairdresser, who will not only cut, colour and style your hair so you can look fabulous for your holiday, but also share a wealth of celebrity gossip about famous guests who have visited the hotel!

Famously comfortable beds

Yes everything was great the hotel was not far from the airport you could see the runway from the rooms which ate very well equipt and very clean to the highest standard will use you again thanks

Mr Earp (Heathrow Renaissance)

Splashed out on a more expensive hotel, but Renaissance was pretty ordinary - very dated. Dinner was good though, excellent service from David in restaurant. Hotel Hoppa totally effortless, although tickets had to be printed landscape to get them on same page to print.

Miss Williams (Heathrow Renaissance)

Everything went as it should, the staff were friendly & efficient. Was a lovely touch to receive holiday countdown emails too ;)

Miss Osborne (Heathrow Renaissance)

When we arrived at our hotel the Reception staff had no record of our booking. Luckily I had a confirmation email from you which proved the booking. However it did not prove that I had paid so there was some dispute about that.
We were kept waiting over 30 minutes whilst the staff tried to find the booking and a room. We were offered a comp drink. We finally got to our room 1 hour after arriving

Mrs Gardner (Heathrow Renaissance)

Excellent service, accurate booking of a complicated schedule. Only niggle was Hoppa bus vouchers didn't print onto one page, so caused a bit of an issue with driver

Keeping with the theme, the Mediterranee restaurant, overlooking the hotel’s beautiful courtyard garden, offers a breakfast buffet to get your day off to a hale and hearty start, and a self-service carvery in the evenings. The cosy Rafters bar offers light meals from noon till late, as well as a selection of wines, beers and soft drinks.

The hotel also has a restaurant, a bar which also serves food, a gift shop selling souvenirs and travel toiletries, and a bureau de change. Rooms are cosy and traditional, with soft, luxurious bedding. The Renaissance has a large car park with 24-hour security patrols and CCTV, so you can leave your car here while you’re on holiday, and catch the Heathrow Hoppa or a free local bus from the hotel to the airport. You can also park in the airport’s Long Stay car park or book our Meet and Greet package, where you drive to the terminal and hand your car over to a driver who will park it for you.

We recommend the Renaissance for:

Location - The Renaissance can’t be beaten for location if you’re flying from terminal 1 or 3. It’s right next to the runway - you’re five minutes from check-in in a taxi.

Delicious dining - The Duo Restaurant has a hot and cold breakfast buffet, as well as an a la carte breakfast menu should your favourite dish not be included. There’s a new lunch menu in the restaurant, while evening diners can choose from international dishes on the a la carte menu or a three-course buffet dinner. Lighter meals and snacks are served in the Duo Bar from noon to midnight. Or if you just want a coffee and a muffin mid-morning, there’s a Starbucks in the lobby.

Parking - Either park in the hotel car park and catch the bus to the airport in the morning, take your car to the Long Stay car park at the airport or book our Meet and Greet package, where your car is collected from you outside the terminal and parked for you.

A great night’s sleep - Beds at the Renaissance are so famously comfortable you can even buy the pillows for your own home. Despite the closeness of the runway, you won’t be disturbed by aeroplanes – we enjoyed a blissfully quiet night’s rest.
