BA Christmas

British Airways has announced that 1.6 million people will be jetting off on its flights over Christmas and New Year.

The airline's busiest day will be Friday December 19 with nearly 105,000 passengers flying. BA will operate 7,500 flights from Heathrow Terminal 5 during the Christmas and New Year period, and more than 1,500 from Gatwick.

Popular destinations include New York, Los Angeles, Hong Kong, Dubai, Paris, Geneva and Nice as well as Edinburgh and Glasgow within the UK.

The airline says it will serve at least 38,000 Christmas dinners plus 60,000 helpings of Christmas cake and 8,500 servings of rich chocolate log over the festive period.

BA is reducing fuel surcharges from Thursday December 18, with the exact reduction depending on length of flight and class of seat.

Remember to make the most of your Christmas break by pre-booking the Heathrow Airport Renaissance Hotel the night before you fly. A luxury 4-star hotel, the Heathrow Renaissance offers a welcoming, stress-free environment to start your holiday.
