Rooms at the Sheraton Heathrow
Improve your circulation as you sleep
The rooms at the Sheraton Heathrow are elegant, spacious, luxurious and spotlessly clean. They're also very well-equipped: all rooms have a minibar, a TV - flatscreen in most rooms - and a Playstation, which you can pay about £4 to use for 24 hours. Make yourself comfortable with a tea or coffee in the armchair by the coffee table, or do some work at the desk in your leather desk chair - all rooms have wifi, which is £7.50 for an hour or £15 for 24 hours.
All rooms also have a full-length mirror, reading lights, a hairdryer, a clock radio, an iron and ironing board, a dressing gown, a safe and two phones. There's temperature control to raise or lower the in-room temperature and a spare blanket in case you get too cold at night (all very welcome features for our extraordinarily-sensitive-to-temperature reviewer), and the queen-size Sheraton Sweet Sleeper bed is designed to eliminate pressure points and improve your circulation so you sleep better. The pristine bathrooms have Sheraton toiletries - soap, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner - and heated mirrors which won't steam up when you have a shower, a very welcome feature if you need to touch up your hair and makeup.
The hotel has family rooms, doubles, triples and twins, and all rooms have rollaway beds so can sleep three people. Upgrade to a Club room to enjoy a king-sized bed and free, all day access to the Club lounge. Your room key will let you in,and you can enjoy a buffet breakfast as well as snacks and soft drinks throughout the course of the day, or simply sit back with a book, while keeping one eye on the large, wall-mounted flat-screens. The club lounge also has computers with internet, printers and a scanner that guests are welcome to. There are two disabled access rooms, both with an adjoining room where a carer can sleep. The hotel is completely accessible to disabled guests: there's a lift to all floors, and a stairlift up the few steps to the bar.
The hotel is completely non-smoking, but there is a smoking area outside the front, or you can smoke in the garden.
The 24-hour room service menu is a full-on comfort-food-fest: think macaroni cheese, chilli and cottage pie. There's also breakfast in bed, all day dining, late night food, a children's menu, and a sizeable wine list too! There's plenty to choose from, but most excitingly perhaps, is the pizza delivery service. Baked in the hotel's very own fiery stone oven, every pizza is made to order with fresh ingredients sprinkled over the plump dough base. Each handmade, circular creation is carefully watched over and rotated until the cheese begins to bubble and the toppings start to soften, and it's ready to be delivered to your door. You can even order all the typical sides that you might expect from your local pizzeria - garlic bread, chicken wings, potato wedges - and ice cream tubs are on offer for dessert too. Be sure not to miss out on this Italian favourite though, as pizza delivery is only available between 3pm and 10.30pm.
