All travellers flying from UK airports this summer are reminded to take note of current baggage restrictions and to pack their hand luggage carefully.

Liquids, gels and aerosols are permitted in individual 100ml containers which fit comfortably into a clear re-sealable bag no larger than 20cm x 20cm. Passengers are advised to pack perfumes and toiletries in their hold luggage where possible.

Hand Luggage Sizes

Sun cream, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, mascara and insect repellant as well as more obvious items such as water or infant formula are all classed as liquids.

At the busiest time of the year for many airports, it is vital to bear the regulations in mind in order to avoid slowing down the security process and having property confiscated.

Unlike some other airports in this country, Manchester airport allows each passenger more than one piece of hand luggage, maximum size 56cm x 45cm x 25cm each. Before flying, passengers are advised to check with their airline for any specific regulations.

Don't forget to relax before your flight by pre-booking a night at the Manchester Airport Inn. Recently refurbished, this three star hotel offers comfortable, contemporary facilities and is located just ten minutes from Manchester airport.
