The Skylark Hotel prides itself on the good food that it serves in the Pegasus restaurant, especially the steaks! Rumour has it that they serve the best steak in Southend and when you see the menu you won't be shocked as to why. The selection of 21-day matured steaks ranging from an adequate 8oz up to the Gentleman's Steak Supreme - a whopping 18oz steak covered in tiger prawns, the menu is sure to get your taste buds going.
If steak isn't your thing or you'd prefer a lighter dish the rest of the menu will not disappoint. From burgers to linguini, risotto to fresh salads, they really do have something tempting for everyone.
The Pegasus also have a Sunday lunch menu and at only £14.95 for 2 courses or £18.95 for 3 courses it is great value-for-money.
Just one little glimpse at the menu and we're sure you'll soon be sat enjoying some delicious food. The tempting starters include classics such as: Chefs Pate served with toast and red onion chutney, Crispy Fried Whitebait and King Prawns. The mains are equally as scrumptious with a choice of roast meats, including Thyme roasted chicken and Breast of Duck with Apple Sauce or if you'd prefer a lighter dish try the Fillets of Sea Bass with a soft herb and lemon butter. And of course there's a dessert menu that will make it impossible to say no; Sticky Toffee Pudding, Lemon Brûlée and a Meringue with ice cream, whipped cream and berry compote. That's got the taste buds going hasn't it!
