Staff at Birmingham airport had their culinary skills put to the test this week as they held a cake sale and coffee morning with the aim of raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support. The event was part of a nationwide initiative from the charity which they hope will generate £8.5 million in aid of those suffering from cancer.
The staff brought in their home-baked cakes to be enjoyed by their colleagues, with prizes being awarded for the best creations. The morning was an outstanding success, raising £325. The airport aims to hold similar events on a monthly basis to help various charities and really make a difference.
