Increasing problems with congestion are being reported at Luton airport, and the airport is advising passengers to make sure they arrive with ample time to spare before their flight to avoid the risk of missing it.
The official recommendation is to arrive three hours before a long-haul flight, two hours before a European flight and 90 minutes before a domestic flight.

From the M1:
Leave the M1 motorway at junction 10.
At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Airport Way and the A1081, heading to Luton, Hitchin and the A505. Go through the traffic lights and stay in the right hand lane.
At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Vauxhall Way and the A505.
At the next roundabout, take the third exit onto Eaton Green Road.
After 80 metres, take the first right before the Shell garage (opposite The Wyvern Pub).

From Hitchin:
From Hitchin Road and the A505, head southwest.
At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Stopsley Way and the A505 (Go past the fire station on the left).
At the roundabout, take the first exit onto Vauxhall Way and the A505.
At the next roundabout, take the first exit onto Eaton Green Road.
After 80 metres, take the first right before the Shell garage (opposite The Wyvern Pub).
