According to an article in the Independent on the 16th April 2008 the big summer holiday is one of the casualties of the looming credit crunch. A recent survey of 2,000 adults showed that around 20% of us are trimming spending on our annual holiday. Some are opting to stay at home and holiday in the UK, some are going somewhere cheaper, or cutting short their stay.
The research, conducted in February for Mintel's annual lifestyle survey, is one of the first indications that people are starting to change their spending patterns to fit the constraints of a tighter budget.
The report says, "The likelihood is that holidays will still be taken but inevitably in the form of cheaper options, or else shorter-duration breaks which match the household cash-flow."
Many families will be looking for ways to cut down on their holiday costs.
For those who are planning to drive to Manchester airport and parking for the duration; booking the Airparks Handforth Dean parking would definitely be a step in the right direction.
The site offers a great, secured holiday parking service for unbeatable prices. The Handforth Dean site recently brought in a new more frequent service to and from the Manchester airport using a brand new transport interchange. Travellers are delivered to, and picked up from the transport interchange from where there is easy access to the terminals using the high level covered walkways.
Only 4 miles away from Manchester Airport, transfers from Airparks are smooth and quick, operating around the clock and taking just 10 minutes.
