We handle the money at Holiday Extras. We deal with all the payments, both incoming and outgoing - collecting money owed to us, processing the payments, dealing with queries, chasing up unpaid invoices, sorting out wages and making sure everything has gone through correctly and the books balance every day.

The management accounts team are responsible for producing the accounts. They report on results and produce forecasts to predict how well the company is going to do in the current financial year. They also look ahead and produce a detailed budget for the following year and an outline plan for the next five years.

We have a good team rapport and our work affects every part of the business. To work in this team, it goes without saying that you need a head for numbers and an understanding of finance and the payment process. You will need to know how to use Excel. You need to have good attention to detail, the ability to work within deadlines and excellent verbal and written communication skills, as in some roles you will need to contact suppliers directly. For a job in the management accounts department, you will preferably have an accountancy qualification or a desire to gain one.
