We're what's known in other companies as the human resources and training department. But people are our business and so the people team is our name. Our job is to recruit, develop, engage and support the people in the Holiday Extras Group - that's Holiday Extras, Airparks and Short Breaks.

Our work covers a range of fascinating areas: recruitment, contracts, pay, career reviews, morale, business planning across all teams and training for all departments. We also organise the fun events that Holiday Extras holds regularly for all the teams. These include barbecues, company-wide music quizzes, volleyball tournaments, the annual fireworks display and our own version of I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here!

We also have to be there to help when everything is not going as well as it could be. We have to know a lot about employment law and how to help our managers get the best from their teams.

And we must be doing something right - Holiday Extras has been in the Sunday Times top 100 companies to work for for three years running and has been nominated by Investors in People for champion status.
