We look after how the website works rather than the design. We're responsible for all the pages the customer sees once they've decided to make a booking, and for making sure all those pages and the booking engine are working properly.
Our role includes fixing bugs, making sure new features on the site are working properly, making sure the system the call centre uses is working properly and checking any new features on their system. We also research new types of web technology to ensure the company keeps up to date.
To work in our team, you should know PHP, Javascript, preferably with the jQuery library, MySQL, Smarty and CSS. You'll probably need a degree and / or relevant commercial experience. You must be organised and able to work as part of a team, and have good attention to detail. You'll need to be able to work with lots of different teams in the company, and explain complicated things to them in simple terms.
It's a rewarding job because you get to see your accomplishments and are constantly learning new things. We're a good team - we have a good leader and the communication and dynamics within the team are good.
