I work in the people team - Holiday Extras' human resources and training and development team. We have a really varied role. Recruitment, employee engagement, contracts, pay, career reviews, performance management and training - those are just some of the things we deal with. We also organise the fun events that Holiday Extras holds regularly for its people.

I've worked in HR for nine years, and three of those have been at Holiday Extras. To do this job you have to be a good communicator - someone who can negotiate with people and influence them. You have to be organised and good at project management, and have a sound knowledge of employment law.

The main thing I like about Holiday Extras is the company's passion for people. The company really cares about its people and wants to develop them. I enjoy working in a fast-paced, innovative environment where everybody's ideas are welcomed. Employee engagement is really important here and I enjoy organising the fun events the company puts on. But the informal fun that takes places day-to-day around the business is really good too and makes for a really good atmosphere.
