The role

We are looking for experienced, technology focused infrastructure architects who are seeking a challenging and rewarding role to help deliver a scalable, robust, flexible and efficient web architecture utilising cloud technology.

This role has three key elements: :

• • Standardisation of web servers. Creation of standard web servers and scripts for managing them.
• • Performance optimisation.
• • Working with web developers to increase performance of web sites using caching and web server optimization.
• • Understanding the benefits of PHP and MYSQL 5 architectures.
• • Optimisation of our web application architecture.

Production
• • Development of an operations architecture that supports the monitoring, deployment and change of high availability web architectures.
• • Further development and improvement to our processes for managing change on our web servers.

• • Transition of our web application architecture on to the cloud.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• • Apache and MYSQL configuration and optimisation.
• • LAMP performance optimisation (esp. Apache and MYSQL 5).
• • Tools for managing deployment and change of LAMP architectures.
• • Experience of scaling LAMP architectures using 2 tier architectural scaling techniques.
• • Transitioning web applications onto the cloud.
• • Experience of running MYSQL on the cloud.
• • Experience with scaling high availability MYSQL architectures.
