2010 Customer Awards - KLM Royal Dutch Airlines

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has been named runner-up in the Most Recommended Airline for Travelling with Babies category at the HolidayExtras.com Customers' Awards 2010.

Founded in October 1919, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines (Koninklijke Luchtvaart Maatschappij) opened its first office in The Hague and took its first flight from London to Schiphol in 1920. In 2004, it partnered with Air France to become the Air France KLM Group - Europe's leading airline business. Now KLM flies passengers and cargo to more than 250 destinations and, in 2009-10, flew 22.5 million travellers around the world.

"Everything on schedule. Cabin crew very pleasant."

With an excellent safety record and a wealth of knowledge in its field, it's no wonder that KLM is held in high esteem. The company itself states its desire to keep "our young passengers and their parents happy", a statement reflecting the dedication it has to serving its customers. Running a special Junior Jet service, KLM offers special play packages for young children and various items for babies. Specially-made children's meals can also be ordered for free.

Unlike many other airlines, it's clear that KLM really has thought about its younger passengers. By making it a more pleasurable experience for parents and a more enjoyable time for children, it's no wonder that it has been voted as one of the Most Recommended Airlines for Travelling with Babies.
