Julia Bradbury

"I am really touched that I have been shortlisted as travel personality of the year by Holiday Extras. And it’s wonderful that people are enjoying my travel programmes and that they inspire people to explore new places."

Television presenter Julia Bradbury has been on her travels in recent months. Her schedule in the last year has included presenting the BBC’s Coast to Coast, Countryfile and Kill It, Cook It, Eat It. In addition, she continues to present Five’s Rough Guide To….

A major undertaking in summer 2009 saw Julia join a re-enactment of Jules Verne’s literary odyssey Around the World in 80 Days in aid of BBC’s Children In Need.

With fellow Countryfile presenter Matt Baker and five other celebrity teams, Julia picked up her carpetbag to circumnavigate the globe in 80 days without flying. All other means of transport were acceptable – from elephants to bullet trains – with each team collecting items of interest to auction for the cause. The Countryfile duo achieved top ratings of 4.2 million for their leg of the relay from Kazakhstan to Mongolia.

In 2007, with extreme climber Tim Emmett, she presented BBC1’s Ultimate Britain – Climbing, and she has also presented Wish You Were Here for ITV and Exclusive for Five.
