The Irish national airline celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2011. Founded in 1936 by the Irish government, Aer Lingus now offers low-cost flights partnered with many of the benefits of full-service air travel. The Irish airline flies to and from nearly 70 destinations across Europe and the US with a fleet of 43 planes, with further aircraft purchases expected in 2014. Aer Lingus carries 10 million passengers a year on average.

The carrier has been a finalist at the Holiday Extras Customers' Awards since they began in 2009, scooping Best Airline in 2010.
