Aer Lingus - Best Airline Value for Money

Aer Lingus is the national airline of Ireland, based in Dublin and celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2011. The carrier offers competitive prices for its 10 million customers a year, providing a single economy class on all short-haul flights, with a business class available when flying long-haul. The Irish airline flies to and from nearly 70 destinations across Europe and the US with a fleet of 43 planes.

Aer Lingus launched its own Viscount Awards in 2008, to honour companies who have developed economic ties between Northern Ireland and Great Britain.

Why does Aer Lingus represent value for money?

Aer Lingus' has positioned itself in the marketplace as a 'value carrier' adopting a "some frills" strategic approach. A 2008 partnership with JetBlue Airlines allows for easy single reservation booking of flights from Ireland to various US airports. And to help them excel further, alliances and partnerships with airlines across Europe and North America provide more services whilst improving connectivity for Irish travellers across the North Atlantic.

Has Aer Lingus won any other awards?

Aer Lingus came fifth in the "Best Economy Airline" category in the Guardian, Observer and guardian.co.uk Travel Awards 2011.

Aer Lingus is no stranger to the Holiday Extras Customers' Awards, winning the most recommended for travelling in groups and travelling with babies, and runner up for travellers with a disability in 2009, as well as scooping Best Airline in 2010.
