easyJet

Popular low fares airline easyJet walked away from the first-ever Holiday Extras Customers' Awards, voted for by 18,000 UK travellers, with the best airline cabin crew and best airline for value for money titles.

Founded by charismatic entrepreneur Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou in 1995, easyJet has been a pioneer in the low-cost airline revolution that has changed the way people travel in Europe in recent years.

One of the first companies to harness the full potential of the internet for travel arrangements, easyJet is the number one airline at Gatwick, Milan and Geneva. The distinctive orange branding can now be seen on 170 aircraft on 400 routes in 27 countries.

More than 44 million passengers took advantage of easyJet's fantastic value and service last year. It is estimated that around 289 million people live within a one-hour drive of an easyJet carrier.

Bill McKimm, head of ancillary revenue for easyJet, said: "We are delighted that we have won the best airline cabin crew and best airline for value for money awards; it is testament to the hard work and dedication of our staff. It is their commitment that forms the foundation of our success, which enables us to deliver the best possible low-fares service day in, day out."
