Bristol airport is known as the gateway to South West England. The cities of Bristol and Bath are right on its doorstep, and Cardiff and South Wales are just an hours drive away. Somerset, Devon, Dorset and Cornwall are a little further afield but worth a visit nonetheless. Just eight miles south of Bristol on the A38, both the M4 and M5 are nearby, so getting to the airport by car is easy. Great public transport links mean that the city is well connected too.
There are plenty of places where you can grab a bite to eat or have a drink at Bristol airport. Ritazza, Soho CoffeeCo and Subway are great for lunch or just a snack before you go through security. After security, Bar Zero9, Dexters, Starbucks, Burger King, another Soho CoffeeCo and the Seafood Bar are sure to provide something for everyone.
Youll also find a number of shops including a WHSmith and Flying Visit before security, as well as Worlddutyfree, Collection, WHSmith Books, Superdrug and Claires once youve been through the security checks.
The city of Bristol is rich in history and offers plenty to see and do. Keep the whole family entertained with the animals, gardens and attractions at Bristol Zoo Gardens. Explore the spectacular Egyptian collection at Bristol Museum and Art Gallery or visit Arnolfini - one of Britains finest contemporary art galleries. Bristol is also home to the Bristol Old Vic, which is the UKs oldest working theatre.
Stonehenge, Bath, the Cotswolds and Glastonbury Abbey are not far from the airport and offer some of the most beautiful and historically significant sights in the country.
