Airport lounges take off

Busy airport scene

Airport Angel is encouraging customers to escape the hustle and bustle of the airport by choosing an airport lounge.

The Airport Angel programme covers more than 200 airport lounges, including 70% of the most visited airports. The programme is likely to appeal to frequent flyers because in addition to the fee of £15 per visit to each airport lounge there is also an annual membership fee of £65.

“Whilst Britons are addicted to their overseas travel, many of us are now opting for economy class or no frills airlines. In addition, earlier check in times means spending more time at overcrowded airports,” says Simon Ward, MD of the company behind Airport Angel, The Leapfrog Group.

“Airport Angel lets you relax away from the crowds providing respite from the hustle and bustle of the airport departure areas, plus complimentary beverages, snacks and business facilities. When you consider the cost of a coffee and a sandwich, the airport lounge pass practically pays for itself, adds Ward.

Airport Angel users will also benefit from a real time personal text service which provides them with essential updates on the outward and return journeys including flight delays, check in, boarding and arrival information. Nominated family and friends can also be provided with the information so that they can arrange convenient airport pick up or meeting times.

Passengers who opt for the Airport Angel service can also offset the carbon emissions from their travel thanks to the company’s partnership with ClimateCare.
