Exeter airport is undergoing a rebranding exercise with new terminal signs and a new website.

The expanding south-west based airport says its new logo "reflects the vibrancy of the region and emphasises the focus on people". The logo shows seven silhouetted characters in a variety of poses and colours, including someone pulling their luggage on wheels and someone with a rucksack. The name Exeter has been rendered in a "freehand" style.

The new logo was designed by Exeter based Signs Express and has been displayed on the external glazed wall of the airport terminal atrium. As part of the rebranding exercise, Exeter airport also has a new website. Designed by Exeter company Rokk Media, the new look website features an interactive world map and uses pictogram icons for site navigation.

Anyone who visits the website during June and signs up to receive the upgraded newsletter will be entered into a free prize draw for a new Apple iPod Touch. The new iPod will also be available at the new technology department opening at the airport shop in the departures lounge later this month.

“Since the change of ownership we have been keen to show that we are in a new era for the airport. We have already received some very positive feedback. Our passengers seem to like the new bright sign colours as they arrive at the airport and the website has been very well received," says Exeter airport communications manager, Stephen Ayres.

Flybe, which claims to be Europe's largest low cost regional airline, is based at Exeter airport and offers flights from the airport to a number of destinations including holiday hotspots such as Alicante, Malaga, Faro and Palma in Majorca.
