More flights to Ibiza from Manchester airport

Low fares airline Jet2.com is significantly increasing its services from Manchester airport to Ibiza for summer 2009.
Jet2.com will launch a daily service from Manchester to Ibiza from May 9th next year. On Saturdays and Mondays a larger Boeing 757 plane will be used, increasing space at peak times by 27%, or an extra 608 seats a week.
And in addition to the daily flights, the budget airline is also introducing a new Friday evening service departing from Manchester at 20.05 from early June to September. The flight is aimed at clubbers and others looking for a long weekend on the White Isle.
Jet2.com boss, Philip Meeson, comments: “Ibiza is such a diverse holiday destination and has proved to be popular with so many people – from families and couples to groups of friends, stag dos and hen parties. This is why we have significantly increased our service from Manchester, making it easier and more convenient for people to get there for a family break or a weekend of partying”.
“As the only scheduled airline currently flying out of Manchester to Ibiza, we are confident that our Summer 2009 schedule will prove to be extremely popular and convenient for travellers across the North,” Meeson adds.
Fares for the new flights start from £46.99 one way including taxes. As well as being the party capital of Europe with world famous clubs including Pacha, Space and Amnesia, Ibiza also has a gentler, far more relaxed side with beautiful countryside, secluded coves, sparkling clear waters and some of the best beaches in Europe.
The island’s capital, Ibiza town or Eivissa, has an old town known as Dalt Vila which contains some of the finest medieval architecture in Europe. Ibiza is also famous for its sunsets, with bars such as Café del Mar and Café Mambo providing chill out music to watch the sun go down.
The White Isle has long been a favourite spot for the international jet set too. Celebrities with homes on the island include Oasis frontman Noel Gallagher and singer songwriter James Blunt.
Other airlines flying to Ibiza from Manchester include Thomas Cook, First Choice, Monarch and Thomsonfly.
