Gatwick to open onward travel centre
An onward travel centre, offering choices for passengers as they continue their journeys, will be opened at Gatwick airport next week.
Gatwick airport will open a new onward travel centre on October 29th, offering a selection of transport options to passengers.
Services from Southern Trains, Gatwick Express, National Express Coaches and Hotelink will be offered through the centre, which will be located in the arrivals hall of the south terminal.
Managers of the airport claim that the initiative is part of an ongoing commitment to increase the use of public transport by passengers and staff at Gatwick.
Around £850 million will be invested in Gatwick over the next ten years, partly to support airport operator BAA's goal of putting 40 per cent of non-transfer passengers on public transport for surface journeys.
Jo Astor, retail director at the airport, said: "The onward travel centre is one of our many projects designed to put our passengers first.
"The centre will enable our passengers to select their onward travel choice simply from the wide range on offer in one place."
Gatwick currently provides 950 train services a day, operated by six companies. It also offers a number of airport hotels and lounge facilities.
