Flyglobespan announce new Glasgow route

Low-cost airline Flyglobespan is set to launch a new route to the popular Egyptian resort of Sharm El Sheikh from Glasgow Airport.

According to reports, the airline has been encouraged by high levels of demand for seats on Sharm El Sheikh departures on flights currently operating from Edinburgh Airport.

Rick Green, chief executive of Flyglobespan, said: "Egypt has been steadily increasing in popularity since we started flying there two years ago and it makes sense to expand the programme.

"Like our summer programme we think we have a good mix of destinations, but also a variety of offers - from flight-only to all-inclusive packages."

The no-frills airline will operate Saturday flights to the popular destination, as well as adding a Wednesday flight serving the nearby port city of Hurghada. Fares for both destinations start from £99.99 one-way, including taxes and charges.
