Heathrow Express 'scrapping stress'

The managers of airport rail service Heathrow Express have claimed that their connection helps travellers cut stress.

The Heathrow Express rail service substantially cuts stress among travellers by offering an alternative to driving to the airport, managers of the company have claimed.

To mark National Stress Awareness Day, Heathrow Express announced that it takes one million cars off the road every year.

This has positive effects not only on the environment but also on travellers' stress levels, according to the company, as driving to the airport raises the risk of a person encountering traffic and potentially missing a flight.

Brian Raven, managing director of Heathrow Express, said: "We all know that jams cause us stress and are harmful to the environment. A million average family cars would see a tailback from London to Paris – and that's one big traffic jam.

"Heathrow Express offers a quicker, more reliable and less stressful way of travelling and by removing one million cars from the road it has a tangible impact, both on the environment and on the well-being of our customers."

Heathrow Express travels from London Paddington station to Heathrow airport in around 15 minutes.
