Luton airport launches priority security lane

Passengers at Luton airport now have the option of a fast track through airport security.

Luton airport says its new security priority lane is a “fast and efficient option for those passengers looking to take the quickest possible route through to security”.

Launching the new service, Luton airport commercial manager, Simon May, explains: “We have worked hard to reduce waiting times at security for all passengers and improve customer service across the airport”.

“However, it is important to offer a choice of services to suit all passengers and we know that some people value being able to guarantee the quickest route to the security search point. Feedback from passengers that have chosen Priority Lane has been very positive,” adds May.

One of the first passengers to use the new airport security priority lane at Luton is Steven Miller from Antibes in France who is a frequent flyer through Luton airport.

“Priority Lane is an excellent service for just £3.00; it’s a bargain. I’ve always got change on me so it is ideal and if not you can even use a credit card,” comments Miller.

Tickets for the priority security lane, priced at £3.00, are available from kiosks in the terminal building at Luton airport, or for an even quicker journey through the airport can be purchased online at the airport’s website, www.londonluton.com.

Luton airport says that the fast track airport security lane is the latest new service to be introduced at the airport. Also recently launched are new and improved airport parking services. These include priority parking drop off and collection adjacent to the terminal building and short term airport parking just a short walk from the terminal building.

In January last year Luton airport unveiled its new Community Engagement Strategy, which sets out the airport's formal commitments to the community up to 2012. The strategy focuses on three areas: 'A Better Environment', 'A Vibrant Neighbourhood' and 'A Growing Economy'.

Commitments in 2008 included publishing a revised environmental policy and practical support for local community projects.
