A new airline Kiss Flights has started selling seats for summer holidays to the Greek Islands, the Red Sea, Turkey and the Canary Islands.
The new airline has been set up by Gatwick airport based aviation broking company Meridian Aviation. According to its website, Kiss Flights is a "dynamic travel company ... offering an exciting programme of daily flights starting in summer 2009 to eleven of the most beautiful destinations in Europe from both Gatwick and Manchester airports".
Flights for Kiss will be operated by Viking Airlines, which is based in Sweden, using two Boeing 737s. Viking was set up in May 2003 and operates charter flights on behalf of a number of tour operators in the Mediterranean.
Kiss will offer what it describes as "affordable charter flights" to 11 destinations from Gatwick and Manchester. The Greek Islands destinations are Corfu, Crete, Kalamata, Kefalonia, Kos, Heraklion and Zante. Also on offer are Dalaman in Turkey, the Red Sea resorts of Sharm el Sheikh and Hurghada, Paphos in Cyprus and the Canary Island of Lanzarote.
"We've chosen these popular destinations in Egypt, the Canary Islands and Eastern Mediterranean to ensure you, our customers, have the most enjoyable holidays possible," Kiss Flights says.
"Delivering a safe, reliable and comfortable service to our customers is a key priority and, for peace of mind, we are fully ATOL bonded," the company adds.
At this week's ABTA Travel Convention in Gran Canaria, Kiss Flights was represented by former managers of Freedom Flights, the seat only arm of the XL Leisure Group which went bankrupt last month. Kiss Flights is promising customers "You'll never forget your first Kiss".
