Luton airport is getting new flights to Tel Aviv with Israeli airline EL AL.
The six times a week service from Luton to Tel Aviv with the Israeli flag carrier will start on Sunday May 3rd. Flights will depart from Luton on Sundays to Thursdays at 12.15 and arrive at Tel Aviv Ben Gurion airport at 19.05. On Fridays departures will be at 09.45 with arrival in Tel Aviv at 16.35.
Return flights from Tel Aviv on Sundays to Thursdays will leave at 07.30 and arrive at Luton at 10.50. On Fridays flights will arrive at Luton at 08.50.
Luton Airport managing director Glyn Jones comments: We are delighted EL AL has chosen London Luton for the new Tel Aviv service. The airport offers exceptional convenience to passengers, with improved road access and a great rail service running from central London to Luton Airport Parkway in 20 minutes.
We will provide EL AL passengers with a fast and efficient airport experience and a choice of products and services to enhance their journey, Jones adds.
EL AL CEO for UK, Ireland and Northern Europe, Uri Danor, says: We are excited about our new venture and are working closely with London Luton to launch the service in May. The flight timings are particularly good for passengers as our departures and arrivals will be at times when the airport is at its quietest enabling swift boarding and disembarkation.
We will be using Boeing 767 aircraft offering both Business and Economy cabins with full meals and drinks services. The services are ideal for both leisure and business travellers, continues Danor.
Luton airport has announced that it will be switching off lights throughout the airport tomorrow (March 28th) in support of Earth Hour. Lights will go off in arrivals and departures at the airport during Earth Hour between 20.30 and 21.30.
Last year Luton airport implemented several projects to limit energy consumption in buildings it controls, from more energy-efficient lighting sensors in the terminal to technical changes to the main building management system.
Earth Hour started in Sydney, Australia in 2007 when 2.2 million homes and businesses switched off their lights for one hour and has since become a global movement.
