Emirates Terminal 3 check in

A new terminal is opening at Dubai International Airport tomorrow that will increase capacity at the airport by 50%.

Just as Heathrow Terminal 5 was designed for the exclusive use of British Airways, the new Terminal 3 at Dubai airport will be for the sole use of national airline Emirates.

When it is fully operational Emirates Terminal 3 will be able to handle a massive 43 million passengers. The new terminal is being opened in phases. From October 14th flights will depart to and from New York, Houston, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Sao Paulo and Toronto in the Americas, plus local flights to Doha, Muscat, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jeddah, Damman and Riyadh.

Subsequent phases will open flights to the Middle East and Africa and then Europe, the Indian subcontinent, the Far East and Australia.

“The new Emirates Terminal 3 is a testament to our corporate values that will see our passengers enjoy ease of travel, home comforts and refined luxuries both in the air and on the ground – helping us to deliver on our promise and fulfil customer expectations from the Emirates brand,” says Emirates Airline president, Tim Clark.

Emirates Terminal 3 includes both an airport car park and two airport hotels. Passengers will be able to check in their luggage at the car park well in advance of their flight and then go back home if they wish. There is also the option of online check in which enables passengers to drop off their bags at one of the self service kiosks and collect a boarding pass.

The new airport hotel at Terminal 3 is located right at the heart of the airport. The hotel has a dedicated spa and health club with gym, jacuzzi and swimming pool. Guests also have a wide range of dining options plus a choice of bars where they can relax before their flight.

Children travelling alone at Dubai airport Terminal 3 have access to dedicated airport lounges at the check in, departures and arrivals levels. There are also two special needs lounges with access for wheelchairs and travellers with physical disabilities.

From Concourse 2 at the new terminal, which includes premium airport lounges, retail and spa therapy and 14 restaurants, passengers will be able to board from 26 gates, including five gates designed to handle the new Airbus A380 superjumbo.
