Ryanair counts down to 'revolution' at Belfast
Low-cost carrier Ryanair is preparing to launch new services from Belfast City airport on October 30th, which it claims will offer the lowest fares in the region.
Airline Ryanair has looked forward to October 30th, when what it describes as a low-fares "revolution" will come to Belfast City airport.
From that date the carrier will base a new Boeing 737-800 aircraft at Belfast City and reportedly guarantee the lowest fares from any airport in Belfast.
Ryanair has released 100,000 seats for travel in November, December and January across all of its new routes from Belfast City to the East Midlands, Glasgow, Liverpool and London.
Speaking in Belfast yesterday, airline chief executive Michael O'Leary said: "In just five days' time, Ryanair will revolutionise air travel to and from Belfast by guaranteeing the lowest fares from Belfast City or Lough Neagh airport.
"Over the next year, 600,000 passengers will fly with Ryanair to and from Belfast."
Mr O'Leary claimed that the carrier's new services will generate a tourism spend of over £100 million and sustain 600 local jobs.
