United Airlines reinstates Denver flights

United Airlines has decided to reinstate daily flights between Heathrow airport and Denver from next Spring.

The daily direct service will begin on March 29th and continue until October 23rd eastbound and October 24th westbound. Flights from Heathrow to Denver will leave at 13.05 with a scheduled landing time at Denver of 16.01 local time. From Denver flights leave at 19.59, arriving at Heathrow at 12.15 local time the following day.

The route will be served by a Boeing 777 configured with 10 First class seats, 45 Business class seats and 198 Economy class seats. Tickets for the new flights are now on sale.

United, which is one of the largest airlines in the United States, has also announced new daily non-stop flights between Washington DC and Geneva in Switzerland. The airline says the flight will connect the US capital to the world's banking hub and to the headquarters of numerous international agencies.

"Our service to Geneva and London provides our customers with convenient access to two international business, financial and diplomatic centres that are also popular tourist destinations," says United Airlines senior vice president – planning, Kevin Knight.

"We will continue to adjust our capacity to market conditions and seek new opportunities to serve markets that respond to our customers' needs and deliver the results necessary to return us to profitability," Knight adds.

A Boeing 767 that has recently undergone a multi-million dollar product enhancement with true flat-bed seats in First and Business classes, on-demand entertainment and “spruced-up amenities that create the optimal space to work, sleep or relax” will be used on the Washington to Geneva service. The aircraft will have 6 First, 26 Business and 151 Economy class seats.

United is offering tickets for flights to Geneva with an introductory sale price of $449 for travel Monday to Thursday and $469 for travel Friday to Sunday. These fares are for tickets purchased from the US and are priced each way and require a roundtrip purchase by December 3rd, 2008.
