Morocco 'will be a major destination'
Morocco is one of the world's emerging tourist locations and will be a major destination in three or four years, according to an investment expert.
Morocco is set to be one of the major tourist destinations for European travellers in coming years, according to an industry spokesperson.
A representative of real estate investment company Avatar Portfolio said that the north African country is making significant steps forward in terms of infrastructure and amenities.
The representative said that planners in Morocco are 'pulling out all the stops' to achieve progress.
"Airports are being improved, motorways are being put in; there are a lot of things that are happening to put this country in a position and in the next three or four years it will be a serious holiday destination for anyone in Europe," he said.
Holidaying in Morocco is not a particularly new phenomenon, according to the Avatar Portfolio spokesperson, as European travellers have been going there for some time.
"The thing about Morocco is that it does have a European influence," he said.
"The Spanish and the French have been holidaying there for many years and that is apparent when you go there."
