This year Good Friday is on April 10, with Easter Monday falling on April 13.
Most schools will be on holiday between April 6 and April 17 and many families will be looking forward to taking a short break or a holiday.
Searching for sun, snow or fun, popular family choices during the Easter school holidays traditionally include skiing, snowboarding, beach, UK stays and theme park breaks.
In a recent Holiday Extras survey only 76 people, out of 1,009 asked, said that they were expecting to stay in the UK for 2009. So it looks like the majority of Brits will be taking a break abroad despite the tougher economic climate.
There's no doubt though that we'll all be looking for a good deal and ways to make our holiday budget go further.
If you are planning your holiday don't forget to book your airport hotel and airport parking in advance. You'll get the best choice and great value if you book ahead.
