Leading consultants On Purpose are spearheading new training opportunities for industry leaders at the Dyce terminal at Aberdeen Airport.

The scheme has been co-designed with BAA's Aberdeen Fire Service, and is designed to provide managers and leaders with a better understanding of the behaviour and trust required to lead within a safety culture.

Applicants to the course will first undergo an in-depth theoretical element through classroom study before heading out onto the fire training ground to put into practise their teamwork and leadership skills as they fight simulated training fires.

David O'Neill, commercial training and fire manager at the airport, said: "We have a well-established training division at Aberdeen Airport which has been running offshore courses for a number of years now. This partnership with On Purpose really adds another feather to our cap, and is a credit to the teams who have been able to facilitate such a unique and stimulating course."

Aberdeen Airport serves more than three million travellers annually, operating over 100,000 aircraft movements to a host of international destinations.
