Eastern Airways announces new services to Bergen

Direct services from Aberdeen Airport and Newcastle Airport to Bergen in Norway are to be operated by Eastern Airways from October 5, 2009.

Bergen is renowned as a destination rich in culture, where quaint, colourfully-decorated houses line the seafront to create an enchanting and relaxed ambience.

Graeme Ross, Eastern Airways' Scotland director, said: "The announcement of two new direct services to Bergen from Aberdeen and Newcastle demonstrates our commitment to developing routes between the UK and Norway. These new routes will provide businesses, particularly supply chain companies in the oil and gas industries and subsea sector with vital city links and a connection to this very important export market.

"Bergen is a key base for the global energy industry and these new services are in direct response to demand from the business community. Our services also provide a convenient link for leisure passengers taking short breaks in Norway, north east Scotland and north east England."
