Leeds Bradford gets Sardinia flights

Leeds Bradford airport will offer flights to Sardinia from next spring thanks to jet2.com.

Flights from Leeds Bradford to Olbia in Sardinia will start on 3 May, with fares from £98.99. Jet2holidays.com is offering 7 nights self-catering in Sardinia departing from Leeds Bradford from £274 per person in May.

"We are committed to diversifying our portfolio of holiday destinations to some of the more exclusive corners of the Mediterranean and not just the old favourites across Spain and the Balearics. Using low cost flights to Olbia from Leeds/Bradford we are offering our holidaymakers the option of direct flights from their local airport into the very heart of the Costa Smeralda," says Jet2holidays general manager, Mandy Round.

The Costa Smeralda is Sardinia's most exclusive coastline, and is regarded as one of the most beautiful in the Mediterranean. The island has many historical sites dating from Carthaginian and Roman times, especially at Arzachena where ancient monuments include the neolithic necropolis of Li Muriand and the Grave of Gigante.

Jet2holidays also recently introduced new holidays in Crete and Cyprus, as well as the popular Red Sea diving resort of Sharm-El-Sheikh. Prices for Crete departing from Leeds Bradford airport start at £169, with prices for Cyprus starting at £249.

"In launching Crete and Cyprus we are stating our commitment to destinations outside of the traditional resorts in Spain and the Balearics," says Round.
