Manchester Airport named Airport of the Year

The annual Travel Trade Gazette awards have named Manchester Airport the Airport of the Year at a prestigious ceremony held in London.

The coveted prize sees airports judged on facilities, customer service standards, investment, innovation, travel trade relations, business strategy, environmental performance and commitment to their local communities. Manchester Airport was judged the leader in its field, beating competition from London Luton, Southampton and Birmingham airports.

Andrew Cornish, Manchester Airport's managing director, said: "We are extremely proud to have secured such a highly acclaimed award which is a real tribute to the efforts of the 19,000 people who work at Manchester Airport.
