More business flights from regional airports

Regional airline Eastern Airways is adding new flights from Aberdeen airport, Newcastle airport, and Southampton airport to destinations in the UK and abroad.

From 3 March flights from Aberdeen to Newcastle will increase to six times a day, while flights from Aberdeen to Southampton and Aberdeen to Leeds Bradford airport will both increase to four a day.

Newcastle to Southampton flights will increase to four times a day, Newcastle to Cardiff flights to three times a day, and Newcastle to Stavanger to two flights a day. Flights from Southampton to Leeds Bradford and from Southampton to Angers Loire will go up to four a day.

Eastern Airways is also introducing a larger 50 seat Saab 2000 aircraft (pictured) onto all services from Aberdeen to Newcastle, Aberdeen to Southampton, and Newcastle to Southampton.

"We've provided the business community with a comprehensive network of routes from Aberdeen to Newcastle for many years and this latest expansion demonstrates our commitment to providing the best business schedules from both cities. Seat capacity will also be increased by up to 60% on some services with the introduction of our larger Saab aircraft to meet demand," says Eastern Airways' chief operating officer, Chris Holliday.

Passengers flying with Eastern Airways from Newcastle, Leeds Bradford, Southampton and Cardiff airports will benefit from dedicated fast track security channels to help them avoid airport queues.

As well as flights from its main bases at Aberdeen and Newcastle, Eastern Airways also offers flights from several other UK airports including Stansted, Manchester airport, Birmingham airport, Bristol airport and Durham Tees Valley airport.
