New flights launched by Ryanair

Ryanair check-in

Ryanair is launching new routes from seven UK airports to popular destinations in Europe including Alicante, Malaga and Faro.

The airline claims to be the largest low fares airline in Europe, and this is its biggest ever European expansion. To celebrate the roll out Ryanair is offering 2 million seats on its 605 European routes for just £10. The offer ends at midnight on Thursday 20 December.

The new Ryanair routes are Birmingham to Barcelona (Girona), Marseille and Pisa; London Stansted to Angouleme and Faro; Manchester to Barcelona (Girona), Bremen, Marseille and Milan; Edinburgh to Alicante, Bremen, Frankfurt, Marseille and Pisa; Durham Tees Valley to Alicante; and Newquay to Alicante and Barcelona (Girona).

This will be the first time Ryanair has flown to Angouleme in France, and it will also be flying to new airports at Arad and Constanta in Romania.

"We look forward in 2008 to guaranteeing the lowest fares for even more European consumers as they save 6 billion euros with Ryanair compared to the high fares and fuel surcharges levied by Europe's flag carriers," says Ryanair ceo, Michael O'Leary.

Earlier this month Ryanair also announced three new routes from its base in Dublin to Brest, Rodez and Tours in France. "These three new routes give Ryanair passengers a choice of 11 French destinations from Dublin for less than half the price of Aer Lingus," said O'Leary.
