New morning service to Newcastle

Eastern Airways has introduced a new early morning flight service from Southampton International Airport to Newcastle, offering greater convenience for business travellers from the south of England.

The airline, which recently introduced similar services from Southampton to Liverpool, specialises in business-focused air travel. Its new service will come into effect from July 6, 2009, with departures at 7am, as well as a 4.05pm departure to Southampton. The new flights will operate alongside the existing 7.05pm weekday service from Southampton to Newcastle.

Humberside-based Eastern Airways has provided high frequency services from Southampton to Newcastle since 2003.

Chris Holliday, CEO at Eastern Airways, said: "We've responded to business traveller requirements as it was evident there was a gap in the market for early morning departures from Southampton to Newcastle.

"Adjusting the timings allows our Southampton passengers to arrive in Newcastle city centre before 9am and helps maximise their time in the north east."

Travellers utilising the service can check in just 30 minutes before departure, while fast-track security channels at both Southampton and Newcastle airports ensure Eastern Airways customers avoid any queues in security search.
