Ryanair launches SMS booking service

Europe's largest low-fare airline, Ryanair, has announced a new partnership with 15 Below to deliver booking confirmation numbers directly to passengers' mobile phone via SMS message.

Ryanair passengers can use the service at a cost of just €1 and will no longer have to print out confirmation emails since their itinerary can be sent to their mobile within 24 hours of booking.

Stephen McNamara of Ryanair said: "Ryanair will carry 67 million passengers this year thanks to our guaranteed lowest fares and no fuel surcharges and this service will allow passengers the convenience of having their confirmation number delivered directly to their mobile phone.

"This will make travelling with Ryanair even easier as passengers will no longer have to print our their confirmation email, but simply refer to their mobile phone for their flight details."

15 Below's managing director, Nicholas Key, said: "15 Below's collaboration with Ryanair to provide an SMS booking confirmation service will allow Ryanair customers to benefit from personalised travel itineraries delivered directly to their phone, meaning that trip details are always close to hand."
