Since opening at The Comedy Theatre in February, Boeing-Boeing has proved a huge success and now announces a casting change.
From April 30th the role of housekeeper Bertha will be played by Patricia Hodge, taking over from Frances De La Tour. With an extensive history with the National Theatre, Hodge has appeared in productions of His Darkest Materials, Noises Off and Money for which she won a Laurence Olivier Award. Patricia Hodge's television work includes roles in Rumpole of the Bailey, The Lives and Loves of a She-Devil and playing Margaret Thatcher in The Falklands Play.
The role of TWA stewardess Gloria will, from May 14th, be played by Amy Nuttall. Nuttall was last seen on the West End in Guys and Dolls playing missionary Sarah Brown opposite Don Johnston and Patrick Swayze. Amy Nuttall, perhaps most famously, is known for playing Chloe Atkinson in television's Emmerdale from 2000 - 2004. After leaving television Nuttall made a classical music album which was nominated for a Classical Brit Award. Amy Nuttall will be taking over the role of Gloria from Tamzin Outhwaite.
Boeing Boeing is a stylish reproduction of the hit 1960's comedy that follows Bernard - an English architect living in Paris. Bernard has 3 girlfriends, each of them air stewardesses and each of them blissfully unaware of the others.
