Major changes for Cabaret cast

Playing at London's Lyric Theatre, Cabaret has announced a major cast change.

No stranger to outrageous outfits, Julian Clary should have no problem donning the black pvc attire of Emcee as he replaces James Dreyfus. Beginning his career on the London stand-up circuit as The Joan Collins Fan Club, Clary quickly rose to fame hosting many comedy and quiz shows including Sticky Moments with Julian Clary, All Rise for Julian Clary, Mr and Mrs and Prickly Heat. No stranger to the stage, Clary has a number of pantomimes under his belt and appeared on London's West End as Leigh Bowery in Taboo in 2002.

Amy Nuttall will be replacing Kim Medcalf in the role of nightclub Sally Bowles, throwing herself into the hedonistic world of 1930's Berlin. Nuttall is now well known on the West End after playing Sarah Brown in Guys and Dolls last year and currently starring as Gloria in Boeing Boeing. Nuttall is perhaps best known for her role as Chloe Atkinson which she played in ITV's Emmerdale for five years. Amy Nuttall has also released a classical album Best Days which was nominated at the 2006 Classical Brit Awards.

Also joining the cast of Cabaret from October 2nd will be Angela Richards who has starred in Side by Side by Sondheim, Cats and Blood Brothers. Richards will replace Honor Blackman as Fraulein Schneider. Barry James who has recently appeared in Little Shop of Horrors will be taking over from Francis Matthews as Herr Schultz.
