The hit West End musical Chicago has announced that the role of Mama Morton will, for a limited season, be played by Kelly Osbourne and that Clive Rowe is to return as Amos Hart.
Kelly Osbourne, at just 22 years old, has already become a household name. Daughter of X Factor judge Sharon and Black Sabbath rocker Ozzy, Kelly rose to prominence when the family's life was captured in the hit reality series The Osbournes. Since then Kelly has maintained her public profile with appearances on Project Catwalk and presented the three-part documentary Turning Japanese. Kelly also took a walk in her fathers footsteps with a music career that saw her record two albums and top the UK chart with Changes - a duet with her father. Kelly Osbourne will play Mama Morton in her West End stage debut from 10th September to 27th October 2007.
Making his return to Chicago in the role of Amos Hart will be Clive Rowe. Rowe first played the part of Roxie Hart's husband Amos in 2002 when the musical was showing at the Adelphi Theatre. Rowe is a familiar face to West End audiences, his recent stage credits include Into The Woods, Caroline, or Change, As You Like It and Simply Heavenly. Rowe is an Olivier Award winner, picking up an award for his performance in Guys and Dolls.
Kelly Osbourne and Clive Rowe will be joining current cast members Josefina Gabrielle and Annette McLaughlin as Roxie Hart and Velma Kelly respectively. The role of smooth talking lawyer Billy Flynn is currently played by Duncan James who has just extended his appearance until September 8th. No further casting for the role has been announced.
