It's time for the Evening Standard National Theatre Awards, and the standard of nominees is very high this year. Famous faces from overseas such as Kevin Spacey and Kathleen Turner are up for best actress and actor awards, for their roles in 'A Moon for the Misbegotten' and 'Who's afraid of Virginia Woolf?'. Homegrown talent is also acknowledged with a best actor nomination for Rufus Sewell for his performance in Tom Stoppard's 'Rock and Roll'.
In the Best Musical category the Monty Python musical Spamalot is up against Tony Kushner's more serious civil rights musical 'Caroline, or Change' and West End classics Evita and 'Sunday in the Park.'
There really are some great shows in the West End this winter, and we have fantastic prices on tickets and hotel stays, so treat yourself to a weekend of musical magic in the capital!
