Spamalot's Ladies Swap Lakes

Hannah Waddingham, currently playing the role of The Lady of the Lake will be crossing the Atlantic in January and trading places with her Broadway counterpart Marin Mazzie.

Marin Mazzie has thus far been nominated for three Tony Awards and made her London debut in 2001 in Kiss Me Kate for which she received a Laurence Olivier Award nomination for Best Actress In A Musical. Along with Spamalot, Mazzie's Broadway roles include Kiss Me Kate, Ragtime, Passion, Man Of La Mancha, Into The Woods, Kismet and The Vagina Monologues.

Mazzie will take over the role on January 14th 2008 as Hannah Waddingham will be preparing for the role on Broadway. Waddingham, who earned a Laurence Olivier Award nomination for her performance, will make her debut in the Broadway production of Spamalot on January 17th.

The role of The Lady of the Lake is currently the subject of a reality show now underway on Swedish television. Following in the footsteps of recent reality television shows, West End Story (further details) aims to discover a new Lady of the Lake to perform in the West End production of Spamalot in 2008.
